Job Purpose

To lead the end-to-end delivery of software engineering initiatives by ensuring the timely, high-quality, and efficient execution of projects across multiple product streams. The role is responsible for driving delivery governance, Agile execution, cross-functional collaboration, resource planning, and continuous improvement to achieve business objectives while ensuring compliance with organizational policies, industry best practices, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Key Result Responsibilities

Delivery & Execution 

• Own end-to-end delivery of software projects from discovery through release. 
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. 
• Monitor sprint progress, velocity, and release planning. 
• Remove delivery blockers and escalate risks appropriately. 
• Drive predictable delivery through structured planning and governance. 

Agile Leadership 

• Champion Agile/Scrum/Kanban practices across teams. 
• Facilitate planning sessions, retrospectives, and delivery reviews. 
• Ensure backlog readiness in collaboration with Product Owners. 
• Promote continuous improvement culture. 

Stakeholder Management 

• Act as the primary interface between Engineering, Product, Business, and external stakeholders. 
• Provide transparent reporting on milestones, risks, and dependencies. 
• Manage expectations across executive leadership and cross-functional teams. 

Key Result Responsibilities-Continued

Resource & Capacity Management 

• Work with Engineering Managers to manage capacity planning. 
• Forecast resource needs and identify skill gaps. 
• Optimize team allocation across initiatives. 

Risk & Dependency Management 

• Identify cross-team dependencies and delivery risks early. 
• Develop mitigation plans and contingency strategies. 
• Ensure compliance with governance and security standards. 

Quality & Performance 

• Drive adherence to engineering best practices (CI/CD, code reviews, testing). 
• Monitor delivery metrics such as lead time, cycle time, defect leakage, and release stability. 
• Support post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 
• Fluent in English Language
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience managing distributed, cross-functional, and multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple initiatives.

Work Experience

• 8+ years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years as a Lead or Senior IC, with demonstrated people-management experience for at least one squad.
• Strong engineering background across full-stack, cloud, and delivery practices.
• Fluent in Agile delivery, DORA metrics, and product-engineering partnership.
• Understands architecture and can hold their own with Software Architects.
• Comfortable making trade-offs between people, product, and platform investments.
• Experienced people manager: hiring, calibration, coaching, and difficult conversations.
• Runs a healthy operational cadence (1:1s, retros, planning, staffing).
• Excellent written and verbal English; comfortable communicating.
