Job Purpose
To examine patients, diagnose illnesses and administer or prescribing appropriate treatment while addressing patients’ health related queries. The GP will also implement medical screening programs for applicants/patients in accordance with MOH and GCAA regulations.
Key Result Responsibilities
- Work in an out-patient clinic and follow applicable standards & procedures of MOH and GCAA regulations
- Prescribe medicines and order investigations for diagnosis
- Treat acute & chronic illnesses and provide preventative care & health education to applicants & patients
- Secure and evaluate medical health and development history of the patient.
- Conduct medical assessment and refer the cases that require more than primary health care
- Interpret investigation results and refer patients to specialists for further testing and treatment if needed
- Manage emergency cases and perform minor surgical procedures
- Complete medical / incident reports as needed regarding investigations and the resolution of complaints; Make reports for the management on all the employees that were given treatment.
- Implement Occupational Health and Safety (including Vaccination) programs in the company and promote occupational health to employees through education when required in a wide variety of health care subjects such as nutrition and lifestyle issues, basic health care maintenance, and self-administration of medications.
- Supervise the treatment room, side laboratory and imaging unit to ensure they are hazard free; Continuously monitor & assess risk within the work areas and take appropriate measures within the practice to minimize risk.
- Actively participate in audits of the medical centre/clinic
- Train and indoctrinate medical staff to improve their knowledge, skills, and performance.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager within the remit of this role.
Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)
- Holds a Medical Doctor Certificate. Post Graduate degree is preferred.
- Valid MOH License
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and database systems.
- Fluent in English Language (Arabic is a plus), verbal and written
Work Experience
• Minimum 5+ years’ work experience in a recognised health care provider as a general practitioner or similar capacity
• Ability to work 24-hour shift pattern/ roster
• Ability to learn and develop competency in Aviation Medicine
• Good verbal & written communication skills
• Good interpersonal and team working skills
