Job Purpose
To serve as the primary focal point for all planned and unplanned flight dispatch activities across all Air Arabia group-based operations and designated hubs on a 24/7 basis. Ensures On-Time delivery of services at all levels, and upholds the safety and security of passengers, crew, and aircraft in full compliance with DGCA regulations, applicable Indian & All AOC aviation laws, company policies, and approved quality standards.
Key Result Responsibilities
- Manages all dispatch contractual and operational activities ensuring compliance with the respective CAA regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Oversees dispatch operations, staffing, and external stakeholder relationships with emphasis on safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Supports the development and implementation of policies and SOPs to reduce incidents and mitigate operational disruptions; co-designs compliance standards aligned with DGCA, quality bodies, and commercial requirements.
- Manages manpower planning, utilization, and allocation in line with operational requirements and DGCA/labor regulatory requirements, ensuring cost optimization and safety objectives are achieved.
- Utilizes operational data and reports to analyze current practices, identify cost-reduction opportunities, enhance recovery response plans, and recommend solutions to improve team performance.
- Provides technical recommendations on route planning, scheduling, and new destination launch; oversees aerodrome and route operational requirements and aircraft performance limitations as advised by Central operations.
- Monitors availability and compliance of Flight Operations documentation with company policies, DGCA regulatory standards, and IOSA SARPs.
- Represents the company at CAA Emergency Planning and related regulatory committee meetings; negotiates with authorities to support continuous development of the Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
- Coaches, motivates, and monitors team performance to maintain high operational and service standards; ensures competencies and qualifications remain aligned with DGCA requirements.
- Partners with HR to set objectives and define KPIs for team members; ensure all subordinates are aware of their performance targets.
- Provides ongoing support and supervision to bridge skill and performance gaps within the team.
- Designs and delivers effective staff training solutions ensuring mandatory professional and quality standards are met as per central standards; ensure all CAA-mandated training is completed and records are maintained.
- Ensures all resources including manpower, systems, tools, and procedures are properly managed to achieve optimal, error-free productivity.
- Provides direction, coaching and guidance to team members for their career and professional development.
- Creates a conducive working environment to build and sustain a performance driven, engaged, and committed team.
- Ensures people management responsibilities are handled effectively in line with company procedures.
Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation, Aeronautical Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Valid Flight Dispatcher License issued or recognized by DGCA India.
- Proven problem-solving skills in managing disruptions, irregular operations (IROPS), and recovery planning.
- High attention to detail with a strong safety and compliance mindset across all dispatch activities.
- Proficiency in flight dispatch systems, operational planning tools, and MS Office applications.
- Strong teamwork and coordination skills to ensure smooth shift handovers and sustained operational performance.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret operational data and support cost-effective decision-making.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong operational decision-making skills with the ability to act swiftly in time-critical situations.
- In-depth knowledge of flight planning, fuel management, aircraft performance, routing, alternates, NOTAMs, and meteorological interpretation.
- Excellent situational awareness with the ability to monitor multiple flights and operational inputs simultaneously in a 24/7 environment.
- Effective coordination and communication skills with all internal and external stakeholders including OCC, flight crew, ATC, DGCA, AAI, and ground handling teams.
- Fluent in English Language.
Work Experience
- With a minimum of 8 years of comprehensive experience in a comparable airline environment.
- With at least 5 years in an operations department as an approved or licensed Flight Dispatcher.
- And a minimum of 2 years in a team supervisory/ managerial capacity.
- Experience in low-cost carrier (LCC) operations is preferred.
