Job Purpose

To implement, monitor and maintain the “assigned safety functions” related to “Air Arabia Safety Management System” in the respective areas of operation; utilizes “Safety Reports” to generate needed statistics in line with the Airline adopted policies and procedures. Manages the coordination, collection, transcription, analysis, and dissemination of digitally recorded flight data to relevant stakeholders within the Airline Headquarters and Hubs.

Key Result Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day operational tasks related to the FDM system. This includes proactive actions for flight data retrieval in coordination with E& M team ensuring agreed targets are met.
  • Review and revise the FDM program in accordance with the regulatory, IOSA and company requirements
  • Validate the exceedances / RED events and in coordination with the Flight Safety Officer ensure closure of such events.
  • Share the Alerts/ RED event details with the department concerned for their required actions.
  • Maintain a log of all event debriefings conducted by the Flight Safety Officers for proper documentation and tracking.
  • Prepare event analysis reports like daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual.
  • Prepare for and facilitate the quarterly FDM meetings with Flight Operations Department ensuring preparation of presentations, minutes the meetings and closure reports for the recommended actions to be taken.
  • Provide required FDM reports for the SAG / SRB meetings.

  • Provide flight data analysis reports including FAR as per the required schedule to the Flight Safety Officers and Safety Manager for further action
  • Prepare the data analysis reports for the incident investigation.
  • Facilitate GCAA, internal, IOSA FDM Audits till timely closure of the findings/ observations
  • Prepare Safety Alerts/ Safety notices based on the quantitative/ qualitative Flight data analysis, external sources of information like GCAA
  • Participate in internal as well as external safety meetings, as and when required.
  • Facilitate and provide timely the significant RED event data for Risk register.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering from a recognized university or institute in one of the following majors: Aeronautical /Aerospace / Mechanical.
  • Strong knowledge of civil aviation safety regulations, with particular familiarity with GCAA requirements, policies, and manuals. 
  • Strong knowledge of Airline FDM program
  • Ability to implement, monitor, and maintain FDM processes and performance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail.
  • Effective report writing and communication skills; fluent in English.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Composed and professional, able to perform effectively under pressure and in emergency situations.

Work Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in the Airlines/Aviation industry,
  • Minimum of 2 years in the “Safety Department” in a similar capacity is required for this role.
