Job Purpose

Responsible for supporting the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and infrastructure to ensure reliable, high-quality data availability across the organization. Assists with data integration, transformation, and quality monitoring while collaborating with stakeholders and developing foundational data engineering skills under close supervision.

Key Result Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest, transform, and load data from various sources to support analytics and reporting requirements. 
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented SQL and Python code in line with established development standards and best practices. 
  • Support data integration activities across data lakes, warehouses, and analytical platforms, ensuring reliable data availability. 
  • Monitor pipeline performance, investigate issues, and escalate data quality or operational concerns as required. 
  • Perform data validation and error-handling checks to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data outputs. 
  • Maintain documentation for data pipelines, workflows, and transformation processes. 
  • Participate in code reviews and collaborate with team members to promote quality and continuous improvement. 
  • Work closely with data analysts and data scientists to understand requirements and deliver data engineering solutions that support business needs.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • Fluent in English language.
  • Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python preferred)
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and data integration patterns
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and common storage services
  • Basic knowledge of data modelling and warehousing principles
  • Understanding of version control practices using Git
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality
  • Eagerness to learn, receive feedback, and grow in a team environment
  • Basic understanding of relational database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)

Work Experience

  • With 1–2 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related technical role (including internships or academic projects). ITIL Certification is an advantage but not mandatory
