Job Purpose:
Oversees airside operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant ground handling activities in line with company policies, regulatory requirements, and operational standards. Supervises aircraft turnaround, resource planning, and operational staff performance while ensuring adherence to safety, health, and security protocols. Also supports audits, incident investigations, training compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives, while maintaining effective coordination with internal teams, airport authorities, and service providers to ensure smooth operational performance.
Desicion Making/Scope:
Independently manages the day-to-day activities within the framework of responsibilities and boundaries identified with his/her role and in accordance with standard practices; expected to make decisions and apply judgement on related issues frequently. Consults with line manager on non-routine actions prior to executing; all duties shall be performed through a proper channel and in compliance with the adopted policies and procedures.
Role Responsibilities:
- Oversee all airside operations to meet performance standards, ensuring safety and efficiency in accordance with company policies, SLA, and SPIs.
- Coordinate the recruitment of operational personnel for airside operations in collaboration with HR and the Manager Ground Operations. Monitor their performance and growth opportunities.
- Implement and monitor effective resource planning to ensure adequate resource availability for operational functions including all functions under self-handling activities. Adjust planning in case of operational needs.
- Responsible to ensure proper oversight and supervision of aircraft turnaround activities, both under self-handling and contracted activities.
- Monitor the company safety targets and safety performance indicators and take necessary actions in case of any significant trend. Develop and implement mitigation strategies for potential safety and security risks in line with the company SMS Manual.
- Promote safety reporting among all operational staff.
- Ensure that the relevant Health & Safety and company policy requirements are fully complied with.
- Conduct regular performance audits and use insights for process improvements, both in the hub and out-stations.
- Ensure compliance with company, regulatory, and airport authority policies, including safety, health and security protocols.
- Support with internal / regulatory audits in area of responsibility.
- Investigate incidents and recommend preventive / corrective actions to maintain a safe and secure work environment. Monitor their implementation and effectiveness.
- Arrange and ensure training compliance for all operations personnel as per defined requirements. Evaluate training effectiveness, identify gaps against industry standards, and liaise with the corporate training department for necessary updates.
- Maintain accurate documentation of operations and ensure timely reporting.
- Ensure that all Manuals, SOPs and work instructions are kept up to date and disseminated to all concerned departments / staff.
- Facilitate ongoing training and development programs to enhance team competency and performance.
- Handle disciplinary matters in coordination with the HR department, ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication with internal departments and external representatives.
- Identify cost saving initiatives and commercial opportunities.
- Coordinate GSE maintenance for optimal equipment availability and utilization.
- Continuously assess operational procedures for improvements.
- Prepare and submit accurate reports and performance data to Senior Management.
- Lead business projects to drive operational excellence and innovation.
- Act as the main point of contact with ramp services provider for operational matters. Support with commercial matter when required.
- Act as a point of contact for emergencies or critical situations in airside operations.
- Deputize the Manager Ground Operations / Customer Services Manager when required.
- Support with oversight / project / inspections in out-stations when required.

- Ensures people management responsibilities are handled effectively in line with company procedures.
Knowledge & Qualities
- Ability to manage operations under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in report writing and presentation creation.
- Knowledge of safety, security, and health policies in aviation.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Fluent in English Language.

Education & Relevant Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience in Airside operations with an airline or ground handling provider. With 4 years of experience in Airside operations with an airline or ground handling provider.
